Apple Blossom Fairy

Look what my new friend Sir Chance-lot & his mamma made for me! I'm the Apple Blossom fairy! Luckily I am secure enough in my masculinity (despite having no boy bits anymore) not to be worried at all by being a pink flowery doggy, hehehe. I think it's fabby, especially the mini-me lying down on the branch. Thank you so much Sir Chance-lot, I really LOVE it! There are lots of clever pictures like this on his blog so why not go and check it out. He hasn't been blogging for too long, so maybe not many of you have met him yet. He's our favourite Newfy Nanook's cousin, so go and say hi!

In other news, I have obedience class tonight. I only have a couple of things to do now before I get my Gold Award. Mum is really hoping I can finish it off this week & next so that I will have it by the time I celebrate my 1st barkday 0n May 28th as she thinks this will be a big achievement. One of the things I have left to do is a 5 minute sit-stay. We are struggling a bit with this as I tend to slide into a down after 3 minutes or so (what can I say, I'm a lazy bones!). I already did my 5 minute down-stay a few weeks ago as I find that fairly easy. Has anybody got any suggestions to keep me in a sit - and super gluing me to the floor is not an option, hehehe! The other thing I have left to do is a "leave it" where I have to walk past and ignore toys and treats on the floor. Hmm, tricky but I do know this command so I should be able to do this one without too much trouble. I'll let you know how I get on.

You can sit and stay for 3 minutes??!! Good for you Oscar! Ice cream for you next time we go to Wentworth's, okay?!
Love the apple blossom fairy picture! How pretty and no, it doesn't take away your masculinity at all - not one bit!

Love ya lots,
Maggie

Position him for the sit/stay in a corner or with his rump against a wall while you are training it at home! This helps prevent the lazy-slide-down-to-a-settle.

wow a sit/stay for 5 minutes! Wow! I don't think I could do that!

P.S. Mom helped me post the recipe to my blog. If you are interested :)

Hugs, Sitka

Hey Oscar...
That is an awesome picture. Sir Chance-lot also made a very cute one of Suki too!

You sound like you are making great progress on your training. I agree that sitting for 5 minutes is far too long. My Mom is trying to teach me that and I think 2 minutes is my maximum before I lay down. I guess I'm a lazybones too!

Good Luck at Class! Lots of Licks, Ruby

Holy cow! Sit still for 5 MINUTES!?! Walk past toys WITHOUT playing with them?!? You're a better man that I, Oscar. (even with the pink mimi-me)

You have to sit for 5 minutes! Why so long? That's tough on a doggies little legs! Now a down-stay, that's different. Mom makes me Down Stay for 20 minutes sometimes. She says it's good for my self control...whatever that is. Who needs it???

Well aren't you the prettiest pink fairy I've ever seen...I'd be careful if I were you Oscar, Boo seems to have an eye out for the "pretty" things...

You have more willpower than I would have to sit for 3 minutes, I can't imagine 5 Oscar! But I have no doubt you will get your Gold Award my friend:)

Good luck with this:)

BIG hugs from Billy Boo:)

Hiya Faery Prince Oscar-doo!
Mum & I love the picture that Sir ChanceALot made! What a talented doggie!
I can do a sit-stay for long amounts of time. Tell your mum to play the focus game a lot with you! See the treat - look at mum - get the treat. Us Airedales have short Aireattention spans. Sometimes we need LOTS of focus work!

I love the little tiny fairy Oscars. When I use to go to puppy class I had to do that sit stay thing. I sat, then I lay down, sat, begged, lay back down, rolled over. Mummy said she had never been so embrassed. Everyone else seemed to think it was funny.
