I am heartbroken to tell you that Oscar died at around 11am this morning as they sedated him to try to operate to see what was happening to him. We opted not to put him through an autopsy, but pancreatitis or a blockage is most likely. We went to sit with him afterwards and he looked very peaceful.
Thank you for all your well wishes, Oscar must have been one of the most loved dogs on the planet.
We simply do not know what we will do without him.

I was so sad to see Jackson's sweet goodbye to Oscar, then visited Oscar's page and openly wept as I read the terrible details. I am so, so sorry for your loss! The love we receive from our pets is so pure that it’s almost literally heart-breaking when we lose them. Oscar was obviously quite the scamp – and very rakish! – and though his time with you was all too brief, you gave him a WONDERFUL life. I can't imagine how you must feel in this sudden wake of sadness. The tears, I am sure don't even come close to justifying the pain and heaviness you are experiencing in your hearts. Surely Oscar had become a part of your souls, a beautiful addition to your existence and seems very unfair that he has been taken so quickly and so suddenly. I am holding my babies and kissing their soft ears, in tears as I read your story. I am so sorry that you are going through this right now. Oscar seems like a truly special guy and I hope you can find comfort in the happiness you feel in his memory.
